David Baddiel because he has been 'Have I told you at all that I'm Jewish' for 350,000 fucking years, including in his old stand-up routines.

AND, he's about as funny as a puppy's funeral, a bit like his old comedy chum. I can't listen to Absolute Radio on a Saturday due to that dreadful man.

13  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Is anyone actually going to world cup on: November 19, 2022, 12:40:25 PM
Never been less interested in a world cup.  Primarily because of the timing and being foo wrapped up in domestic footy. Will be working Monday and havent felt a desire to shuffle things around so i can wat h England Iran game. Hopefully ill get the bug once it starts

Qatar was a wholly unsuitable choice, and there was a time to protest about that choice and lobby FIFA or withdraw your team. That ship has sailed now, if you have entered a team you just have to get on with and accept qatarr has a different view of the world. Wasnt long ago we had a world cup in Russia.

Seeing all the mental gymnastics from the various politicians, ex footballers, ambassadors and various other talking heads trying to justify going there has out me off even watching.

The only thing that would truly have raised awareness and impacted the decision was a boycott. Instead they’re all there with their snouts in the trough and think a few rainbow flags or pre-match virtual signaling monologues will make a difference. The only thing being “made a difference” too I’d the bank balance of many who will now spend their time telling us how we should live our lives while they do the opposite.

100%

Juergen Klopp got pretty angry about ten days ago when asked about it all. Clearly the time for all this shit was ten years ago, or whenever the shit decision was taken. It was plain as a pikestaff that it was going to be in the winter as soon as the tournament was secured, by whatever means

21/22 spend on NHS was £136 billion so a rise of £2.5%, which seems to be a real cut. Leaving that to one side, Ben, you know that I’ve posted many times that this country, all party colours, seem to want Rolls Royce services for Trabant taxes. I largely agree with the thrust of the budget. I mean, I’m a bloody accountant, and I have never understood how we have shortfalls of £150 billion and more every year, and simply borrow to sort that out. Bringing that down to a small business level, it simply goes bust.

Saw the other day that the Paris SE has overtaken London in the amount of business done. No-one can make a case for Brexit having helped us in our economy. We have control of our laws to a greater extent and control of our borders, but my clients hate the difficulties in importing and exporting.

21  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: You Tory boys on: November 15, 2022, 02:24:36 PM
The NHS has been mismanaged. I know personally some of the agency costs paid to cover shifts, and they are simply fucking ridiculous. Early in the Conservative’s go they binned bursaries for nurses in training, and here we are with a fucking huge shortage which, amusingly, is costing us more money than keeping the fucking bursaries in the first place  :alf:

Don’t forget that the current chancellor was health secretary for long enough, and is the co-author,  I believe, of a book championing the privatisation of the NHS

I fully support targeted taxation and spending n social care, to relieve bed-blocking, seems like a cracking idea which impacts all the way down to ambulance response times because they can unload quicker into an unblocked a&e

Obviously, I could sort it in a fortnight

I would guess that human contribution to climate change does not work in such a way that hight outputs in early February result in London underwater on 4th March. It seems to be the cumulative effect of 200 years of industrialisation, accelerated by the tiger economies of Asia and the giant of China joining in.

As a matter of interest, I don’t believe we’ll do anything about it until the Thames is up Downing St and the Potomac is in the Oval Office

Its not happened yet. Ben Houchen is quick to announce these things as done deals but then they seem to stall or collapse down the line. Like the GE rebewables turbine factory announced for Teesworks with great fanfare before GE pulled out after years of stalling. Houchen was still claiming the deal was going ahead months after the press reported GE were bailing on it, which they eventually did.

Do you know, I missed that that project was in the bin also. Fuck me.  souey souey

Oh and surprise surprise. Boris cant get the 100 votes. His devotees, in a another Trump type move,  spread more lies to try and conn people that his campaign had momentum it never had.

Any tory who voted for Truss and then backed Boris should be banned from voting on anything ever again dur to their proven lack of judgement.

So what your saying is that its totally wrong to back a second coming of Boris Johnson (irrelevant anyway) but perfectly ok to trust a lifelong socialist, elected to parliament on a manifesto that made Liz Truss' spending plans look almost judicious in comparison?

Yes. Nailed it.

What on earth could possibly make you think they want a Tory Govt?

Can't think of any political editor or presenter on BBC/ITV/SKY who isn't a Feminist, Black Rights Advocate, LGBT+Activist or some other minority champion. That's pretty much The Labour Party.

Every day Burley, Preston, Rajan et al just parrot the Labour slogan of the day. Even the sports presenter, chefs and chat show hosts hate the Tories.

The beeb even proudly announce that their priority is Diversity.... A Leftie mantra.

Just extraordinary. Are you telling me they don't want a Tory government?  :alf:
