Is there a tablet on the market that you can edit Excel and Word documents on? I'm guessing there is but is it any good for the other functions, watching films, porn, ebooks etc?

If you want proper office your going to have to get one of the Microsoft ones like the Surface that's just been announced but there's Android apps that do office.  Think ones called Kingsoft and you can get a Google Nexus 7 for a couple of hundred quid, and for that price they are pretty much the best you can get to be fair.

Why is the iPad better than the Google Nexus 7? Obviously I can't alter Word or excel documents on the iPad I've got.

Dunno if it is to be honest.  Think the iPad's are just overpriced because of the Apple logo.

You can do office docs on them you know, there's Google docs and another couple of apps as well.  Our lass has one from work with Quick Office Pro HD on it.

The Windows Surface may be the tablet you're looking for.

The ipad 3rd gen works well for me. I was away on a course last week and didn't take a laptop but just my ipad.

I managed everything from emails, watching video and creating PPTs.

If you've got the money buy an ipad but if you want to save a few quid then go nexus 7.

You can use OpenOffice to edit Excel and word documents.

Its basically a free version of Microsoft Office. Down load from Google Play.

You can download it on Android devices/tablets as well as Windows PC's etc.

I wouldnt get an ipad as the wife is always struggling on  websites and it doesnt have flash player. Overpriced if you ask me.

I don't get this at all. Every site I visit I have no problems with the lack of flash and if I did then I would use the puffin browser from the app store.
