And the push for him to win the title outright for what he's done in the community. For me, these awards should be separate, he's already been given an MBE for his efforts. Sports awards should be for achievements in sport and sport only.

Rashford might be getting relegated the way he's going.

Rashford should get an award from the Labour Party for helping to create this non-issue. Children already get free school meals -
when they are at school
.
Councils have been given many millions of extra funding that they could use in a targeted way if there are genuine cases of abuse by starvation, because that's all it can be.
He claims to have been hungry as a child and that he had to have free school meals.
1. He was a child under Labour, how come he was hungry then?
2. He joined the Man Utd academy at age 7, they will have provided food and a diet plan, how come he was hungry then?
3. He earns £20 a minute /£10.4m a year and uses legitimate tax avoidance measures to minimise the amount he pays, as do the majority of these ill-educated unofficial advisors to us all.
Last year the combined player wage of the Premier League was £2,103,500,000 - £22.1bn !!!
Instead of telling us that
we
need to pay more to feed everyone's kids for free (government has no money remember, it's our taxes), why don't the footballers agree to pay the same income tax percentage as say someone on about £55k a year?
Should he get SPotY?
No. He should be told to play football, pay his taxes and keep his massive banana shaped honk out of politics.

Not all footballers earnings are PAYE. Image rights, sponsorship deals, boot deals, car deals are all done via Limited Company and not PAYE

The Blessed Saint Marcus of Rashford. Rumour has it that he has persuaded All Premier players to donate three months wages to his sacred cause. He is also setting up a Zoom cookery course to teach chavs to cook. Oh and I forgot his next campaign is to go after absent feckless fathers.

Yes. They also struck a deal whereby they can pass a fifth of their "wage" to image rights etc. on which they only pay 19% and zero National Insurance.
An illuminating statistic is that for tax year 2019-2020 the number of footballers having their taxes investigated by HMRC rose from 87 the previous year to 246.
Of course they're avoiding paying tax, I get that and, whilst I find it annoying that they are so blatantly greedy, it's the additional hypocrisy of the likes of Rashford who pontificates and preaches to us mortals from that position of tax avoidance. The fact that he is obviously lying about his own circumstances just adds to the stink of political interference in this whole issue and shows how much he is being played by Labour.

I think the investigations were nearly all lower league players trying to claim too much of their wage in image rights, not premier league players?
HMRC argument was “what image rights revenue does a backup keeper at Walsall have?”

The majority were but the point remains that schemes such as this and the use of limited companies are designed to benefit Premier League footballers by allowing them to reduce their taxes, the lower league players are only utilising the same "twist" that they benefit from.

It's actually £2.1bn but yeah, you're right.
I'm confused by billions! Didn't it used to be one million million and now it's one thousand million? Or something like that.
