I’ll admit I had never heard of him. I haven’t closely followed either The Tour or thr Giro for a couple of years now. I used to watch the highlights of the tour every year going back to Indurain, who was fucking awesome. In those days the thought of a Brit winner of a tour never entered anyone’s head.

A great moment for me was watching Wiggins play lead-out for Cavendish to fire onto the Champs Elysees like a rocket; so exciting
