What has he done like? Said something controversial or confrontational?

He's a character and has an appeal for his warts and all punditry.

I'd rather listen to him than some insipid, banal and cliche-ridden bore like any of the Nevilles, Michael Owen or anyone on the BBC.

I like the bluntness and intensity in which he speaks. He's had a dig at Ferguson and some people don't like it. He challenged the notion that Fergie always acted in United's best interest and highlighted that Fergie appointed his  brother as chief scout and played his son in the team when he should have been nowhere near the first team. Also alluded to dodgy loan dealings when his son was manager at preston.

Spot on. Utter cunt.
Must be a hard bastard though coz they were all terrified of him at Utd.
Shearer stood up to him though, Keane never said boo to him off the pitch.

No dodgy loan dealings, fergie recalled his loan players when jr was sacked.

Roy Keane is a bitter arsehole nowadays. He just can't get over fergie flogging him when he was finished. He slated 3 players the other day, Arter, Walters and someone else. Going on about Walters ill child. Saying about the three lads, go count your medals and come back to me, oh that won't take long will it.
He's a bitter prick.

Let's not forget him walking out on his Irish teammates at the WC.

We are usually exposed to boring utter doyles in football commentary.. Micheal owen.. Andy hinchcliffe..glenn hoddle..trevor francis..david pleat.. Then we got keys and gray who dare talk about smashing and such which was too far so we get neville and carraghers "banter" although spitting at people on camera (actual assault) seems ok. How gary linekar is still on tv the cunt 🤷‍♂️

A foreign player was telling a story recently about a time they had an argument with Keane in the dressing room after a defeat. They asked him what happened next and he said I don’t know I woke up on the floor 2 minutes later

Yes he's bitter alright, but when you listen to what he says, it does seem Ferguson & Gill decided once he reached 34 that he was no longer required & Man U could not afford to pay him off.

Keane then explains that Ferguson did something similar to Bryan Robson & Steve Bruce once they had gone passed their sell by date. When you consider some of the other partings like Beckham, RVN, Ince, Stam, Heinze along with Ferguson's selling his players down the river for money in his book, Keane's view of him that he only ever did what was right for himself certainly looks right.

You never hear or have read of ex-players slagging the true legends of the game like Bob Paisley, Brian Clough, Matt Busby, Bill Shankly.

With these great managers the ex-players even though will have still had their spats, they only talk of respect & admiration, but once Ferguson sold his sole for money slagging off all the players who contributed to making Man U great back in the nineties, he lost it for me. Wonder how it would have panned out for Ferguson if he had got the sack when Man U were on verge of sacking him after first 5 years of failure. Lucky lucky man he is not managing in today's era otherwise he would have become another Moysey.

No one disputes Man Utd were a great team in the nineties, just Like Liverpool were in the seventies & eighties, along with Wengers invincibles & Mourinho’s Chelsea who all had their time, but that was then & this is now. Even the Geordies can claim to be great once in the fifties & Huddersfield even further back in the thirties, it is all history which all clubs have; but this period of time is Liverpool’s again & the juggernaut that is Man City.

If ever their points total will ever be beaten only time will tell. I think we should just enjoy the two best teams certainly in the premiership era & like in other sports when you had Ali v Frazier, Coe v Ovett, Borg v McEnroe, let’s just appreciate the quality of the football while it lasts.

And while we are on the subject of shocking tackles, Stevie G's on Boateng was just as bad if not worse.

Isn't it strange how a fuckin bad boy gets slated and a goody goody never gets mentioned.

The legend that is Stevie G could be naughty at times with his tackling, I suppose like what most footballers when they are psyched up for some games.

But to understand his greatness, how many players have a champions league final & an FA Cup final named after him. Also he is the only English Man ever to score in a Champions league final, Europa league final, FA cup final, League Cup final. Even the bitters must admit that is is some achievement.

He was a Roy of the rovers modern day great with possibly only Bryan Robson (before Manure kicked Robbo out) coming anywhere near. That is why I believe Manure fans get bitter when they try to compare Paul Scholes with this legend. Scholes was the only midfielder I knew who couldn't make a tackle without getting booked or sent off. It is so funny when I hear Manure fans attempting to compare these two.

Just to finish off, did anyone notice the £85 million pound centre back last night for England, Leicester laughing all the way to the bank. The penalty he gave away must have had Jones & Smalling laughing their heads off. When will Manure ever learn. Leicester only wanted £70 mill originally but where given £85 - PMSL.

His error was far worse than Maguire's, John Stone's error in the Semi Finals of the League Of Nations but yet you've not mentioned those anywhere on this site.

Rik my boy, Henderson is a good premiership footballer who will always be a step below what we would call a top top player, compared to Stevie G, I get your point, but compared to Michael Carrick, Fred, Mata, then that's for another debate.

He has been a cracking signing for what he cost, what was it, 18 million or something. Just another piece of good transfer business by the current 6 times European Champions & European Super Cup holders.

Now compared to your £85 million your new center back cost from Leicester, let's hope you can be boasting in the next five years or so that it was a good piece of business & that you are holders of the biggest trophy in world club football, but judging by the start you have made & after only 4 games you sit somewhere circa  7th or 8th place already 6 or 7 points behind the premiership leaders that is Liverpool, my gut feeling tells me that he will go the same way as Pogba, DeMaria, Sanchez, Lindelof, Dalot. Jones, Lakaku, Shaw, Memphis & lot's of others of late in that FAILURE is probably going to be the outcome.

Sadly, with Olly at the wheel, probably looking for the new chosen one No? christ, I've lost count since whiskey nose left. How many chosen ones is it now?.

Man Utd will never die.

Good point Jimmy, but he just can't leave my threads alone so I feel obligated to reply to him. Sadly, the truth hurts him & like I said earlier, Manure have a great history, pretty much same as the Geordies, Blackpool, Preston, Huddersfield, but sadly, despite all their spending, changing of Managers, still find themselves competing now with Leicester, Everton, Wolves.

But I respect your view so will leave this go for a while & allow Rik to sulk & suffer in silence which will last until Liverpool suffer a defeat which will surely come at some point which will spring him back into action allowing him to forget his beloved teams recent defeat at home to the mighty Crystal Palace. I really am worried though that he is going to secretly move back to supporting Arsenal as I'm not sure how how much more failure he will be able to take from this current crop of crap that Manure have purchased as all their success is starting to fade from memory, but the one jibe I know will destroy the poor boy would be if the Geordies ever won a cup before manure next do, now that would be the ultimate embarrassment that I know would turn him back to Arsenal.
