Be a labrador or Jack Russel was it.

Something needs doing about these fighting dogs and bull breeds that have the capacity and propensity to kill kids

I have a Staffy absolutely fantastic with kids or adults.  Great with little dogs but any dog bigger than him hes very weary and always defensive.   For this reason he stays home when we go camping, not that I cant control him but other idiots let their labs etc just roam free.

Im. guessing this was the case here as I highly doubt a dog is going to attack a kid so savagely whilst on a lead or with a muzzle.

Our Toy Schnauzer acts aggressive to absolutely anything though but won't bite, just got little dog Syndrome.

Thing is mate, a labrador will only bite. Dogs like yours will not let go. This is why this little boy died.

You do understand that dont you?
Not matter how 'lovely' they are with kids, as you and other owners say, they can and do serious damage.

Staffies dont have lock jaw so it's just as easy to get their mouth open as a lab.

Yes they can do serious damage but so can a German Shepherd.  A survey of dog bites in Britain showed that Golden Retrievers were actually the most common attackers.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers are on the recommended breeds list when it comes to children.

I know a few people with Staffies and they are absolutely fine, none however are young chavs using them as a status symbol.

Itís nurture, not nature that creates a nasty dog. The reason why a lot of Bull breeds are nasty is that a lot of them are owned by dick heads.
Many are owned by good people, then theyíre fine.
Not a breed Iíd have personally because I just donít like the look of them.

As has been said, an ill disciplined lab will bite someone. An ill disciplined staffy will bite and not let go until itís jaw is prized open

Bite statistics are not the key. Digs can bite we know that. Look at the stats for dogs that kill, not just kids but other dogs as well. It's the bull breeds, rotties and more recently Akitas that kill. No need for breeds like that.

Not entirely but Iím certain that nurture trumps nature. All dogs come from wolves so if genetics only counted, weíd all have been attacked by now.
Also it is a myth that the bull breeds ďlockĒ their jaws, they canít. It is no more difficult to open a Staffieís jaw than any powerful dog.

Statistically less likely than having to try it with a Labrador.
Itís unfortunate for bull breeds that they have become the latest breed of choice for cunts.
The German Shepherd, the Rottweiler, the Akita, the Dobermann have all been favoured by the drug dealer / wannabe hard case / chavvy tosser etc. over the years.
Weíd be better off banning the drug dealers and dick heads than banning dog breeds.

Or, what percentage of kids killed were by dogs owned by people with a criminal record? If it suddenly became popular among chavs to own a lab, the number of lab attacks would soon rise. Blame the owners not the dogs.

More legislation required for all shit machines whether they bite or not, hit them hard like motorists. As for killer dogs, exterminate the fuckers.

Shocking & sad, but again, I will always defend the dog. For someone who has owned English Bull Terriers for 40 years & not encountered anything in relation to showing aggression to humans proves my point.

I am aware of lots of incidents with what I call 'dogs with little man syndrome' often owned by nice little old person where they have bitten someone often a child  with a jack Russell I once remember taking a kids eye out. Each case should be treat on it's own merit but most of the incidents I read are often were the dog is owned by some moron.

The only point that proves is your dogs didnít attack anyone, with all animals sometimes instinct can take over, even when the owners have been fine.

I've had Golden Retrievers most of my life and i've never had a problem with any of them. I've had a Doberman in the 80s which was a guard dog, she was soft as shit with other dogs.  She used to get out of the garden and come to my school and the teachers would call for me to go take her home.

I'd go back to school at times  monkey

Dixie has never had a problem with his dogs, it's ALWAYS been other dogs, little fuckers too, that have gone for his.
