i have the sad news to inform you all, my brother the poster known as rodders died just after xmas. I knew he posted on here so thought i would pass on the news as he had encouraged me to read this place as he found it highly amusing. He also said he had talked about a lot of his problems on here seeking some solice. As you well know he had some issues and it was these that finally got the better of him.

Loud and funny, loved the boro and his family especially his kids but sometimes you just don't know what is going on with someone when the lights go out and they are alone with their own thoughts. Just thought Id let you know as some of you may have wondered where he was

May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face.
And the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars

Love you our kid

Perhaps a good time to reflect on what is actually put on here and how it can affect people.

If true I am so so sorry for his wife and kids and the rest of his family. Terrible news.

Laid his demons bare on here but you could see he was a decent man underneath his problems.

RIP Rodders.

That's a good idea.

This is horrible news. Me and him didn't see eye to eye but that's a terrible thing to hear.

Condolences to his family. Thoughts with the wife and kids left behind.

Rodders would have preferred 90 minutes of silence from the red faction at a home game.

I am so saddened by this. Neil and I had mutual acquaintances from school and whilst at times on here we argued bitterly with each other behind the scenes we had a very different relationship (through PMs)we had some great chats about people we knew. I also offered Neil lots of support over the years and whilst it was only in messages (we didn't want to make a public show it and go against character) he knew that if he needed a face to face chat he could contact me. Oh how I wish he had now. I can only take some solace in the fact he started to end his messages with a "X" and his name, again not the perception most people had of the lad but just highlights how complex he was.

No. The people we mutually know are from our school days. Also he didn't use FB etc and it's on places like that you tend to hear about these things. Feel so sad about this.

If it’s who I think it is, there are some obituaries in the gazette.

Very open about his demons on here. Maybe more than most of us would have been.

Very tough time for his family.

Absolutely gutted to hear about this. I didn’t know Rodders away from here despite what some said but very much considered him a friend. Loyalty and courage are the two traits I value above all else and he had them in spades. I’ll always remember his act of defiance in my support for what it was. An act of decency and balls. Thoughts are with his family and that’s it for me as far as pointless arguments on the Internet go. Life is just too short.

RIP my friend.

True, I remember him standing up to the usual bully on here.

I liked his honesty, about his own problems.

I always admired Rodders for his openness on here, shame he couldn’t beat his demons.
