I love the scaremongering going out with it, saying it will effect schools and hospitals. The hospital contracts arm has already been sold to sodexho, and itís only really going to effect school cleaners, not exactly hard to just keep the staff at the school but pay them via an agency.

There would be an outcry if the taxpayers' money was used, so it's just hard cheese.

This government knew they were drowning over a year ago yet still awarded them contracts worth more than a billion.

Tax payers money will be used.

What will happen now is that the liquidator will sell the profitable parts of the Carillion business to private companies, shareholders get zilch and taxpayers will take the losses on public contracts.

Too many eggs in one basket. You understood what McAlpine, Tarmac and so on done, once they got swallowed up Carillion seemed more of a finance company.  Drawing contracts up then subbing most of the actual work out.  Like Serco G4S,  they ended up with billions of taxpayers money to buy other contracts.

Workers have inevitably lost out with poorer wages, less secure employment and worse pensions.

The only winners have been those at the top of these companies.
