He should do. He was unplayable there for 4 sets. He said if he lost today he would switch but if he won he'd stay with the BRO forever.

BDO is not a patch on the PDC. I can't see him doing well in the PDC.
Bunting was the last big BDO star to head to the PDC and he's been very average.

When I was a league player in Middlesbrough (about a century ago) 180s, and 130s on a double board came fairly often, because there were leagues most nights of the week.
The odd 3 bulls came , but Duzza is something different. He's a great player at the top level.
He can win this again this year.

BDO rules are if you get to the Semi's and then leave to the PDC you have to hand any prize money back. Thats why he was going to PDC if he lost the quarters or staying BDO if he got further.

He's committed to the BDO for life though. Doesn't really make sense if he wants to progress his career. Fair enough if he's happy to just turn up at Lakeside once a year, beat some glorified county players barely better than the women and pick up a cheque, but he's probably the best BDO player since Barney for me and could really make a success in the PDC if he wanted to.

He may regret it in a few years when he looks back on his career but 100k is a lot to hand back.

£100k is when he'd struggle to win trophies in the world of the PDC. The likes of MVG, Lewis, Anderson, Wright, Barney are a different kettle of fish to those in the BDO but I think at this moment Glen is head a shoulders above his fellow BDO competitors.
This years winnings table sits like this......
1 Michael van Gerwen Netherlands £2,708,468
2 Peter Wright Scotland £1,085,627
3 Phil Taylor England £956,378
4 Gary Anderson Scotland £865,033
5 Rob Cross England £638,600
6 Dave Chisnall England £536,878
7 Raymond van Barneveld Netherlands £521,966
8 Mensur Suljovic Austria £509,000
9 James Wade England £503,466
10 Daryl Gurney Northern Ireland £476,250
11 Adrian Lewis England £451,824
12 Simon Whitlock Australia £357,250
13 Michael Smith England £339,822
14 Gerwyn Price Wales £331,053
15 Kim Huybrechts Belgium £311,250
16 Alan Norris England £291,250
17 Jelle Klaasen Netherlands £287,500
18 Benito van de Pas Netherlands £279,750
19 Ian White England £275,250
20 Kyle Anderson Australia £247,750
21 Joe Cullen England £230,750
22 Robert Thornton Scotland £224,250
23 Darren Webster England £209,000
24 Stephen Bunting England £199,500
25 Glen Durrant England £190,653
26 Mervyn King England £186,500
27 Steve Beaton England £182,500
28 Cristo Reyes Spain £164,566
29 Justin Pipe England £159,500
30 Johnny Clayton Wales £154,000
31 John Henderson Scotland £150,750
32 Jamie Lewis Wales £147,000
33 Mark Webster Wales £146,030
34 Dimitri van den Bergh Belgium £144,799
35 James Wilson England £143,250
36 Steve West England £142,850
37 Vincent van der Voort Netherlands £137,500
38 Brendan Dolan Northern Ireland £123,000
39 Chris Dobey England £122,250
40 Ronny Huybrechts Belgium £108,750
41 Christian Kist Netherlands £107,500
42 Jermaine Wattimena Netherlands £104,250
43 Terry Jenkins England £103,500
44 Robbie Green England £92,250
45 Max Hopp Germany £89,996
46 James Richardson England £86,950
47 Jan Dekker Netherlands £83,250
48 Josh Payne England £79,250
49 Jamie Caven England £78,750
50 Krzysztof Ratajski Poland £75,099
This is the prize table for the BDO World Championship
Winner – £100,000
Runner-up – £35,000
Semi-finalists – £15,000
Quarter-finalists – £6,500
Last 16 – £4,500
Last 32 – £3,250
Last 40 – £2,000
Rob Cross who won the PDC World's won £400,000, and he's only been a professional since the beginning of 2017.
Glen for me, really needs to step up and get in the big league.

Bunting brought in £200k for the year?
Durrant could certainly look to emulate that.

Durrant is by far a better darts player than Bunting but the PDC isn't easy. £200k isn't really worth winning for getting knocked out of competitions in the very early stages, compared to winning trophies.
If he was money motivated, join the PDC and get knocked out of competitions early and collect the coin, but if he's motivated to win trophies, then stay where he is and pick up less coin but get in to finals every year.

I don't think anyone is suggesting he wouldn't have to up his game if he made the switch, performing on the longer format might need a bit more attention, but he conducted himself well at the Grand Slam last year, taking matches off PDC players and averaging over well over 100 on a few occasions.

He played very well to get it to 6-4 then couldn't hit a double, the 149 finish was the defining moment for him, He had put his darts away when the other lad threw for double 18.

I think I'd have got more satisfaction if he'd gone into the crowd and levelled the dickhead who booed him in the penultimate leg than see him actually win it.

thing is, if he DOES make the switch his game will get better due to being able to concentrate on his game more
was a great game last night - at one point he literally couldn't hit a double

HE GOT A GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD LAST NIGHT.....HE WAS MISSING DOUBLES FOR FUN AND THE GLADIATOR BOTTLED DOUBLE 18 AND DOUBLE 9 TO WIN THE GAME......DUZZAS 149 CHECK OUT WAS THE TURNING POINT IN THE GAME
HE WONT MOVE UP AS IT MEANS HE WILL HAVE TO WRAP HIS COUNCIL JOB IN...AND HE WONT DO IT....HE WILL STAY AS HE IS.....
THE GLADIATOR WAS GRACIOUS IN DEFEAT TOO
HATS OFF TO HIM FOR MAKING IT A GREAT FINAL

he could dominate the BDO for years still another 100k in the pocket.
with the PDC he'd be travelling around europe all year trying to get wins in the ranking events all out of his own pocket or relying on sponsors

wouldn't think the BDO could claim the money back if he moved to the PDC to better his career-his lawyer would surely argue restraint of trade or similar legal jargon

You would have thought Eddie Hearn would stage a unity knockout of both organisations.
Not for his own benefit, but on pay per view just in case.

Said on BBC Tees last night he would have to hand 100 k back if he went to PDC qualifying school this week. Would be up against 500 other players for 20 spots too. Not worth the risk.

How many of those 500 are a double BDO WC? If it's about money, then so be it, but it lacks ambition imo.
