Always a bit of a guilty pleasure for me when everybody else was hounding him last year.

I like him. Tricky, fast and can pick a pass. Thought he did well tonight.

Trouble with players like him they are frustrating when it doesnít go right. Tuncay was classic for that - used to irritate the shite out of me when his dicky dancing kept breaking attacks down....but players like that can turn games.
3  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: RYAN SHITTON on: August 02, 2019, 10:59:50 PM
I thought he had an absolute shocker.

He was steady at right back last year as part of a solid back 4. Never been convinced by him as a centre back. Everything I saw tonight reaffirmed that view. Itís going to be a long season if heís playing regularly. I suspect George might play more at centre back though.

So sad. I had him down as being much older - no age at all that. Never complained even in the face of lowlife scum on the other board.

The lad was clearly Boro daft and always had a good yarn to share.

Fred West should be ashamed allowing the comments to appear on his message board and let the piece of shit that made the comments keep posting.

RIP - thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

What a guy!

Leo really embraced the Teesside public and tapped into the people and area very quickly to become a much loved part of the club. So sad what has happened to him and great to see him back. His words on the mfc site show how much he understood this area and the genuine love affair between each other.

Team talk sorted tomorrow. Put that video up.

Would actually love to see him back at the club. A lot of the feel good factor in the promotion team was down to him.

Shop him. No qualms about it. He'd be taken on earlier by his new employer anyway.

It could jeopardise putting food on table for your family and/or the jobs of your other workmates. Sacrifice for the greater good of your other colleagues. Who's to say he's not also doing the same to other customers.

Gives your employer the chance to potentially rescue the business he has unethically 'lost' for your current employer and makes everyone feel better that he has had the tin tack and won't be welcomed back if it doesn't work out for him.

19  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: CARILLION !!! on: January 18, 2018, 01:14:57 AM
Liddle, I know this is teaching granny to suck eggs but the biggest scandal in all this horrible affair is how the absolutely appalling IFRS accounting system can be abused to disguise liabilities. In Carillion's 2016 accounts debt (amt owed to banks) showed up as £592 million. The real figure was £1,353 million. Carillion's CFO took full advantage of the government's 'early payments scheme' whereby small businesses can get paid early or on time at no cost. There were a number of participating banks operating with the Carillion scheme. Under the scheme a creditor would take his authorised invoice and the bank would pay. So now, Carillion owed the bank for the settled creditor invoice. However, instead of this being shown as 'debt' (which it clearly was) it was shown as 'other creditors'.

I know a little bit about commercial accountancy and under IFRS this is acceptable but would be completely illegal under UK GAAP accounting.

If the early payment scheme wasn't in existence it sits in trade creditors which low and behold is in the same place on the face of the balance sheet as other payables. Regardless of how it's split within the note to the financial statement they are both current liabilities and "trade or other payable" that requires settlement within 90 days or 120 days as per their payment terms. Even classified as bank borrowings it still sits as a current liability requiring settlement within the same terms. I will give you the fact that they do sit in a different place on the cashflow.

I don't know the construction industry well but it seems to me that it is highly competitive to the point they are working on very low margins where one error of judgement can turn projects loss making. The low margins also lead to shortcuts and poorer quality builds. Customers unhappy wanting money off or withholding payment putting more pressure on cash and working capital.

The Board will undoubtedly come under pressure but I'm guessing there are many of their competitors under the same strain who will need to review their business model.

Give the EU a deadline to meet our conditions.Otherwise tell them we are off and they don't get a penny.

I'd stop all payments now based on the fact we are going hard brexit and they only get it on the back of a deal.

The pound is currently printed on toilet paper and the economy is struggling that is what has changed

Why do you keep focussing on the Euro Capio?

The Pound is 3% stronger on currencies such as the USD, Chinese Yuan and Swiss Franc since this same time last year. Yes it is weaker against the Euro but don't be so parochial pal. It's an opportunity for exporters to do more business anyway.

Anyway, a cheap pound has helped with the economic recovery. Unemployment will be through the roof say remoaners....unemployment has dropped in every period since the vote.

We should drop our pants to attract inward investment (big tax breaks like the Irish did and subsidies) and screw the EU big time for the way they are carrying on  :mido:

As much as Westy is a tit and probably the most sychofantic fanzine owner in the country I actually agree with him on this one.

Life could be a lot worse with a crooked foreign owner. I always have been grateful to Sir Steve for everything he's done for the football club and nothing that has happened this season has changed that. Time to start rebuilding for another go at promotion next season. Was always going to be hard staying in the division and along with Krankys fallouts, horrific tactics and terrible buys we were always going to be looking over our shoulders.

No way looking after two kids is as stressful and as difficult as a serious job. It's just the fact that women generally can't cope with any pressure or stress.

I can guarantee you it is. It's exhausting. You can't comment on something you have no life experience of.   sshhh :redcard:

For me having kids was by far the biggest life change I've experienced.

The sayings along the lines of "you won't understand unless you have kids" rang true for us.

Yes - many other things are exhausting but looking after babies and young nippers (especially multiple ones) is right up there.  The responsibility it entails is way more than any job, stressful or otherwise.  Of course, balancing kids with a stressful job is even worse.

And I was lucky - my missus covered virtually all the night time stuff. Plus I was fairly useless with nappies - can't help gagging when faced with that.

OP - go have some kids then get back to us - my guess is your views will change.

46  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Modern parenting on: February 22, 2017, 04:11:01 PM
So looking after babies is easy

Constant feeding, constantly wanting to be held, winding to be relieve colic and trapped wind, walking around with them whilst they cry for prolonged periods at a time, the psychological warfare as you hope they are going to sleep only for them to have another crying fit for another prolonged period, multiple nappy changes throughout the day, bathing, constant crying, constantly wanting to be held...repeat. Sleep interrupted 3 or 4 times a night at 2 hour periods every night.

Really easy mate

It is mentally draining.

One big council for Teesside....it's completely dysfunctional having all these small ones with each one fighting the other.

They're all fighting to maintain their town centres. Give up the game and accept the world has changed. We'd be better having one major shopping/boozing area rather than 4 diluted ones which are complete and utter pap because they can't attract the footfall in their own right.

Transport as already said is a complete farce. We're heading for a gridlocked road network round here in the next decade as the public transport infrastructure is a disgrace.

I'd also love to see the labour stranglehold lifted on the area. They've done absolutely nothing for this area yet the idiots still keep voting for them. Whilst not being a Middlesbrough resident I would have loved to have seen Andy Preston given a chance rather than this Budd clown who will achieve absolutely nothing.
