Your disdain for Beckham is almost pathological. It was a golden generation no doubt about it, was it better than France or Spain or Brazil, perhaps not but it could compete. We didnít compete for numerous reasons largely the cliques, partly our style of play and our inability to keep the ball in hot climates.
Beckham gave everything when he played for his country.
Cole, Ferdinand, Terry, Neville, Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Owen

Plenty of quality back up. It should have done more

good players as individuals and for their clubs, unfortunately the sum of the whole was not as good as the sum of their parts, winning the world club raised Englands profile above their ability,we've lived it down ever since,England are the boro of world football.
On the "becks" front,I admired him until I realised he was all about himself,he works hard in every game because that's what players of limited ability do.The fact he had a career at such a high level tells you he had some ability,if gazza was the most gifted player of his generation, beckham was the most hyped/overated of his.Every player you listed above was a better player in his position than beckham was in his.

So your issue with him, is that he worked hard to mask his limitations? Bizarre. I admire that more.
I didn't write that, that's to be admired as you stated, you use terms like simpleton and moronic on here like full stops and comma's,he really is that, but that's not his fault nor a reason to dislike him.
He is a fake, plays the humble man, bigger narcissist than Ronaldo,
plays the family man-,rebbecca loos (can't fault  him compared to his wife)
charity work,-only to further his knighthood ambitions, get's plenty of x's, for it,(private plane anyone)
Altruistic-tax avoider,
the cunt would turn up to the opening of an envelope to keep his mug in the public eye.Now we have to suffer his thick son being pushed forward, that's enough for now. charles

Amazing to see this in former British colonies such as Ghana. People live in shitholes then suddenly on a morning loads emerge from all the ghettos with an immaculately pressed suit for their office job. Same as India but generally people do not wear jackets, just shirt and tie.

Anadarko CEO Al Walker's base salary edged lower by $50,000 to $1.3 million in 2016, but his total compensation rose by $1.6 million to $18.7 million last year. About half the increase came from an $800,000 boost to his performance-based cash incentives, the rest from the value of Walker's retirement program, which fluctuates year to year.

Stock and option awards accounted for about 60 percent, or $11.2 million of Walker's compensation in 2016. In 2015, Walker's compensation declined $3.6 million, primarily due to a $3 million decline in the value of his retirement program and a $600,000 reduction in cash incentives.

there's a few of us about, :mido:
(I read an interview where scholes stopped playing partly because he was played out of position, wasn't enjoying it and couldn't give his best,he said the abuse from "fans" just made it unworthwhile,I have no problem with a player who doesn't want to play for England,it's their career)

Think Kate Moss.
don't understand why you put a contradictory term up,(it's not an oxymoron),are you saying kate moss is big and little as well.

Let me try to explain it another way; would you rather be hit with a biro or half a brick?
I understand that, but the little big  thing wasn't put that way.  unless it's just a throwaway nonsensical expression  to slag matty off with. :matty:

Spindly and scrawny are synonyms of lanky, all sit perfectly well with "little".

Tax payers money will be used.

What will happen now is that the liquidator will sell the profitable parts of the Carillion business to private companies, shareholders get zilch and taxpayers will take the losses on public contracts.

Correct.It's the tory way :like:

How do you get to be on a board of Director's? You never see any jobs advertised asking for Directors do you

Mealey mouthing it within the organisation you work for, playing compliance politics and having the right middle class upbringing gets you somewhere near the top of the tree. Being utterly self-serving, recklessly selfish and ability to underplay negative news into positive news and equal ability to over exaggerate any good news. Not many council estate boys on these PLc boards.

Non Exec Directors are invited to support the company with retainer and expenses.
Willie,to save you writing all that, just say they  have to be a weasel. mcl

Apart from rons uncouth outburst it's been a civilised debate

That's what I thought, at least from you. Some people were bound to turn it into a personal attack because some people are sad like that.

I'm happy that I've explained why I like rugby, because it's more manly and dignified. I don't expect other to understand this because some on here struggle with both manly AND dignified.
