I do understand, but we are tied in till Jan 1st. We cant legally do anything. Well we could but that would reduce our rankings as a rogue nation. We have to sit quiet, hold our nuts and hang on. It really is as simple as that x

“ He has outlined to Gibson the tools he needs to succeed” For a start get rid of the tools that infest the club from top to bottom.

Bill, can you explain with clarity who within the club infests it, as a fan maybe you know more than me, so I am interested in the infestation?
FUCKING BAUSOR GILL AND AND THE REST OF HIS FUCKING MATES
HE WONT LISTEN THATS WHY THE BORO ARE WHERE THEY ARE FUCK HIM WE DONT DESERVE WARNOCK  :wanker:

But how do you know he doesn't listen? Neil Bausor and Gary Gill I presume you mean are his mates so that then means he is in some way allowing nepotism? I have no idea by the way. But it harks back to Keith Lamb being the boardroom boo boy when I was never given 30 years ago a clear answer as to why? If you believe Gary Gill is a scout of limited abilities then, going off the Boro's track record of finding quite a few gems over the years then that would mean Gary Gill being useless is wide of the mark. Is Gary Gill head of recruitment, i dont know, im only going off what I read. I may have even read it on a web page, but does it mean he is Head of Recruitment. How do you know?
If you’re not Gary Gill I’ll be astounded. If you can’t identify the shite the club have spunked millions on over the past six years I will be double astounded.  For every bargain you name, I’ll give you at least five shite signings.

But Isn't that every football club? I would imagine the scouts around the UK were spitting feathers for not signing George Friend for 100k and getting 200+ games out of him at the top level. How many other clubs have wasted money, probably Boro more so because the area is a imagewise shitehole for attracting players, the reputation of the area precedes the reality of the beauty of the place.

It's tough, i just hope we can some back on. However, that looks unlikely. We have to move on, opportunities for others. People have moaned and whined for too long, now they realise how well they were looked after. The sad thing is, the generation before are unemployable, and my current generation are just as bad in some ways. Maybe the restart button being pressed could be a good thing, only time will tell x

Im on the Guinness monkeyman. Been a tough week, redundancies at work, lads chins on the floor. Difficult times but it has to happen due to the economy. I look at the COVID19 figures, 44,000 deaths of which probably half were mis-reported. Its a case of 'Oh no, what have the British Government done?', or is it what have we fallen for. Onwards and upwards, back to work, get the money flowing again and business back to normal. Enough is enough of the shite x

I'm just pleased and heartened that Neil Warnock will be manager. Would I have felt the same 20 years ago, probably not. But football swings in roundabouts, Warnock would never have fitted the club 20 years ago. However, the game is up, the numbers aren't adding up. Back to basics. Good players who want to live around Teesside on a good salary playing decent football, what more could any fan want. No more mercenaries, no more trying to be something we will never ever be. Cut ya cloth. Hard to beat, hard to score against, and the occasional sublime move...Boro will challenge for promotion next season x

I could be wrong but I believe he came back in 84' for fuck all in money. He did it for the club and Mike McCullagh. A statue for me is the right call. Wherever i go in the world, opposing fans always comment on his team and the hoop. We were bloody good like x
9  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: BIG JACK CHARLTON.... on: July 21, 2020, 07:22:15 PM
A great man, apparently lived in Redcar when he first joined then Great Ayton. Galvanised a squad, added a touch of magic in Murdoch, and made Boro one of the clubs opposing teams feared. Loved a pint, a fag and loved the Boro and the area. Is a statue too far? He never won major honours, but he certainly put Boro on the map, and the 'hoop' survives. The endearing image of Jack is carrying the players tracksuit tops after warm up. RIP Jack x

What I am trying to say, and I don't know the bloke is, I have never met him and have no wish too. It fucking hurt me to see that, how must it have felt to Steve Gibson. He may have his faults, he isn't a Saint, and he may be human and make some bad decisions, but the man has tried to do the best for the town and the club.
He tried to give the town something to feel proud of, without the sniggers and the berating from Southern Press, Steve Gibson understood that the old industry was lost, but the club was still going, and if he could salvage some pride for the town and even dare i say make us into something special, then that isnt such a bad hit. Whatever anyone says about the man, I think he's the best thing to happen to Teesside in my lifetime. Like Morrissey...you'll miss him when he's gone. x
That might have been the case but not over the last decade. We were a skint club who generally flipped between the top two divisions when he took control but hadn’t won anything. We are now a million miles from the top flight, have won cup but amassed £100m+ of debt along the way. If he called his debt in the club would go bust and unless he writes the debt off, I doubt we’ll ever get outside investment.

It was good while it lasted.

I thought i was the miserable fucker round here, we'll be OK mucker. As for money i'll leave that to Price Waterhouse Coopers and Leon Trotsky, i ain't got any, i'm a peasant, i have £13.60 in my account and im a poor man, but every month on the 23rd im rich, sadly it doesn't last long x

What Methodists, yes sadly I agree, it got my family, they tried bless em x As for the football players, well;, they had a swagger, intriguing players, as for Bobby....legend isn't he no matter who he played for. We owe him so much. By the way, last Sunday i woke up to the news that Jack had died, my wife said ' Jack Charlton has died eh', i looked at her and broke down in tears, my wife picked me hugged me and she didn't understand, why would she, but the man that made Boro a household name deserved a cry xx

GIBBO SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON HIS OWN SHOWER OF SHITE HE HAS AMMASSED INSTEAD OF RUNNING TO THE FA ALL THE TIME CLAIMING FAIR PLAY RULES AND TRYING TO GET OTHER TEAMS POINTS DEDUCTED.... THE LITTLE SHITHOUSE HOBBIT 👎😠👎

You dont think he was onto something over the Gary Monk affair. I think it stunk. As I also know the ground buying of Derby et al stunk to high heaven. Middlesbrough FC reflects us all, i don't rip anyone off, neither would I guess do you, we play the game fair. I think Gibson has been spot on, and knew he wouldn't win but wanted to show the world the underhand shenanigans of UK football, and I would guess, there is more we dont know. Fair play to him for it.

Warnock must seriously look & think , where do i start here

I think since his first game he's been looking with a thought for the future. His rotation of squad was there for all to see, he's played everybody apart from loanees I think. I hope he would be already asking and enquiring, wouldn't surprise me if we were looking and seeing who we can get, Warnock wont mess about when it comes to that and we need a lot of players, too many if i'm honest for a pre season, so the quicker in the door the better.

Not as tough as getting into an England team, but surely once your in an International team it's just as hard for whoever when you are playing against i.e. Spain and Italy. You have to hold your own.
23  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Nmecha on: July 18, 2020, 05:44:38 PM
Nmecha was a panic loan surely? He wont be here for long, and isn't the type of player we need going forward. Wish the lad well, he never excited, he never disappointed, in fact he did nothing to make me feel anything. Just a bang average player who will carve out a career in League 1 or 2.
24  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Howson on: July 18, 2020, 05:39:35 PM
Bit harsh, just frustration today which I can understand, decent player Johnny Howson, and he hasn't done too bad under Neil Warnock. Out of all the Boro squad Johnny Howson isn't the issue.
25  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: 1 down already on: July 18, 2020, 05:30:21 PM
Under Warnock George Saville for me has flourished, he isn't your archetypal midfielder, infact, i don't know his best position, i don't think he knows. But he is someone who positionally can read the game, he has a good pass on him, and when allowed to burst in late can score. Why he hasn't scored at Boro I have no idea, but used correctly, I think George Saville could be a very good Boro player.
26  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: 1 down already on: July 18, 2020, 05:20:45 PM
Most of the ones I’d keep have more potential than quality.

Obviously WINGO is at the top of the list - who else?

 :pd:
IF YOU HAVE WATCHED HIM RECENTLY HE NEEDS TO GO BACK PLAYING IN THE NORTHERN LEAGUE

Spot on about Lewis Wing, having a 25 yard strike doesn't mean he can play at this level. He runs like a china woman with two buckets of water. He isn't good enough.
27  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: 1 down already on: July 18, 2020, 05:17:14 PM
Pears could be number one next season.
Two centre halfs, left back right back, one immense midfielder needed, two wide men and two strikers, and that's just the minimal required. Leadership which we haven't replaced since Grant Leadbitter left is very important and pivotal to whoever stays or managerial changes. We need a midfield general.
28  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: 1 down already on: July 18, 2020, 05:09:30 PM
Boro didn't play that bad, but you can only play with the team you have at your disposal. Cardiff we're stronger, quicker and just a better team overall and Cardiff had the DNA of Warnock all over them, and that's what I hope Boro can achieve next season. Surely we need 10+ players in? Gonna be an interesting pre season.

Grooming is taking advantage of youthful naivety, running off to ISIS is something way past that.

15 years old you say....my grandad left school earlier than that age, apprenticed in a steel mill as it was targeted in the early years of the Second World War until he was old enough to be drafted at 18 and served in the Royal Navy for three years.
All in his teenage years.

Fuck off with this poor little petal routine.

The Government knew this would happen, they stripped her citizenship to buy some temporary positive media.
She doesn’t regret a thing and we will NEVER know what she truly got up to over there being off the grid.

The Govt don’t want to scratch this puss filled spot in British society as they know it’ll risk us realising how many radical Muslims live here, hating us.

Any normal society would have dragged her weird uk family to court long ago...but they won’t.
Just as they won’t ever punish this cunt, she will get her Anonymity, her council house and her insidious community will laugh at us behind closed doors.

Great post. Whats more concerning is i know someone who delivers 'Back to work' and the immigrants going thru the course are way ahead of the young English lads and lasses. We are in a mess.

I agree Bob. If we cut the head off, what do you replace it with? British history has constantly maintained the status quo, a Royal family survived a thousand years whilst the workhouses swelled their numbers. You only have to wander the housing estates in Middlesbrough to understand we live in disguised Dickensian times. A penny more a penny less! People are unfulfilled, we are coasting along a line of greyness, and surely in 2020 we can come up with something better than this?

The older i get the more i realise that Left Right and Centre politics is a load of bollocks. It traditionally hasn't worked. And if we all voted using our heads and without outside influences we would vote centre.

But even 'centre' in the UK has subterfuge leanings towards the left.

The UK is crying out for a new political system, it doesn't work anymore, broken and demographically people misrepresented.

I agree Budweiser, there is a lot of rubbish out there, just as much as there are many immigrants who have embraced UK life. However, if this story is true, it surely is a smack in the face of the victims of terrorism, the families, the bereaved. What message has it sent out? She has constantly referred to the UK and the people who live here as evil, and has had no remorse for her actions. I'm all for rehabilitation, but there is something about this case that I believe will rattle many.

I sympathise with the Authors post on this. The UK surely is going down the pan, and what is more concerning is we have no idea who is making these decisions. I understand that the barristers and legal bods are wrapping our citizens up in legal knots; but tragically it is the simplicity, and non-questionable decisions being made - that worries me. What will it take for the UK to wake up, or will it forever be tea and sympathy?

He’s a good runner with deceiving pace but his defending and positioning is dreadful at times, too many games pass him by. The best thing for him would be a few seasons at championship level to get plenty of games under his belt. What’s he worth as a project at this moment in time, £5-7m?

I agree Pile, he's a raw talent, but yes, a good talent that needs nurturing. Good pace, no strength, final ball lacking. But for a young player, who has been tasked with playing first team football in the Championship he has done very well considering what he is lacking. No wonder they come calling. I hope he stays, if he leaves then his career will stagnate. Boro are his home for two seasons if his agent, club and manager all agree.
:like:

Our lack of squad depth could be his making. It’s been a big season for Spence and Coulson playing in a side devoid of confidence and unable to score goals. Could make them stronger in the long run.

I don't think we have had any option. If we had the squad of bygone years the likes of Spence of Coulson would have ended up at Lincoln. When any club goes thru' a transitional period its the likes of Spence and Coulson that shine and the scouts eyes twinkle. Fair play to Boro for putting them in the firing line, and they have shone in games. I hope they stay, as a club, we have looked after them, given them a taste, and now it's head down and see where their careers go.

The mighty Whitesnake. David Coverdale is from Saltburn and original guitarist Micky Moody is from Boro. Later guitarist Mel Galley was from Wolverhampton but his son lives in Boro for some reason.

Mel Galley passed away, sad to find out. Strange link with his son and Boro. Bit like Dick Emery's son living in East Cleveland and a really nice bloke with a story to tell. I forgot to add, John Miles career took a nose dive thru' Mickey Most, he tied him down to a shite contract and he never recovered from it. I believe he went onto play session musician for Tina Turner, not sure what happened to Bob Marshall the bass player.

It was astounding how many artists Mickey Most tried to ruin who wouldn't comply with his requests.

Yeah Bud, it was top 20 i think. But ripe for a cover. But no musician can make any money anymore, it would be a hobby at best for anyone to attempt it. Live music is back, the amount of young kids at my workplace who ask me about 70s, and they want to hear it, so there is a gap in the market for rock, prog rock and folk i think within a live setting.

John Miles, Jarrow lad, played Boro Town Hall many times, had two major hits and then disappeared off the scene. 'Music' and 'Highfly' still stand up today and an outstanding debut album in 'Rebel'. We have had so many musicians in Boro and surrounding areas who don't get the credit they deserve.
