A very poor performance from England tonight.Defense looked very shaky in the first half.Passing back to Pickford in tight situations is not a good idea.Their second goal a direct result of a shocking clearance from Pickford. He did make some good saves, but his clearances are poor. All in all England did not deserve to win and the Czechs were seemingly more up for it.The really worrying thing is what happens when we play good opposition?

Ive posted something that might be of help.Somehow it's gone on Lid's Just Lumped on Post.Dont know how that happened.
6  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: JUST LUMPED ON..... on: October 10, 2019, 03:31:44 PM
Opposite the Labour Exhange was the Club Contessa. To the left of the Contessa was the Army Recruitment Office. To the right  of the Contessa on the corner was the Chest X Ray clinic.Across the road was the National Reserve Club.Over the road ( Grange Rd) was a sweet shop and Joe Kitchen's emporium.A bit further along was the Cycling Club.Rememember a few Christmas Parties in there. They also organised a summer train trip to the sea side.We got some money ,a packed lunch and a bag of sweets.Further down Grange Road towards  Linthorpe Rd was Anchor House where we used to go to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.A bit further along was the auction  rooms then the post office.Tower House was on the Linthorpe Rd corner. Not bad knowledge for a Mackem Troll.

Looks like non of the ra ra brigade will give us their take on how well Sir Steve is running the club.Well he is running the club.Running it into the ground via League One.

Come on Quntzy just for once post something that is interesting or worth discussing.

My support of Boro began in the early sixties at Ayresome. You wouldn't know much about that Quntzy. That was a real football ground not like the Riverside Lego Stadium.

You would like to think so Quntzy but if I told you it was Tuesday you would t believe me.Ah well.

16  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: BORO MANAGER on: October 08, 2019, 08:56:50 PM
Gibson is in a pickle of his own making. He appointed Woodgate and probably never considered anyone else for the job.I suppose Woodgate was very cheap, and a complete yes man. However,it looks as if disaster beckons. If Gibson sticks with Woodgate he will draw the ire of the fans, as Boro continue to drop like a stone. If he sacks him however, then it's an admission of yet another disasterous appointment. It looks to me that Boro are absolutely skint and Gibson is hoping that we don't get relegated. There will be no money in January, and we could be in really deep shxt by then.Gibbo will have to do some hard thinking.I think if we are relegated then Gibson may decide to call it a day.
17  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Not one iota of faith in Gibbo now on: October 08, 2019, 08:48:47 PM
So is Gibson the answer? If so what should he do to stop this decline? It's about time you started to give some answers.Surely you must have a view, apart from trashing any thought that Gibson should go.
18  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Not one iota of faith in Gibbo now on: October 08, 2019, 07:36:20 PM
OK let's just stick with Gibson and see where it leads.

Who is this "we" Mr Buxton  :pd:
I had the impression you were a filthy stinking mackem supporter :pd:
I have never even been to Sunderland ,except through it on a train.I would also wager that I have been to more Boro games than you have.I have met a few S,land supporters in my time, and they were neither filthy nor stank. There again resorting to vile abuse seems to be your barrow,as they say in Leicestershire.

Rids I don't own Boro, but I suspect someone east of Singapore would have a go.
21  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Not one iota of faith in Gibbo now on: October 08, 2019, 04:32:51 PM
Lets just face facts.Boro have been in decline since Eindohven.Yes we had the little hiccup under Kranky into the PL.Meanwhile the decline continues.Gibson should be congratulated for all he has done, but now he needs to accept that he cannot continue in this way.Like all organisations Boro has gone very stale.New blood, new ideas, new energy, and new money are all required. Thanks Gibbo for all you have done, and enjoy your retirement.
22  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Not one iota of faith in Gibbo now on: October 08, 2019, 04:08:21 PM
Maybe that's what the diehards at Leicester City were saying before a " miracle " occurred. The world is awash with money, particularly Asian with the emphasis on China. These people are so wealthy they don't know what to do with it.Owning Boro would allow them a very interesting pastime.

Only Teesside not Darlington or Hartlepool. It gave the population about 370000. Just a bit smaller than Leicester or Nottingham.

Seems like the task was too difficult for you El Capitan.Did it for you instead.Teesside is 18th so well inside the 40 mark.

I believe I said Boro would be in the top 40 for catchment area. Now here s a little job for you.Get on Google and work out where exactly Boro figure in the catchment area stakes. It will keep you out of mischief for a while.Remember the devil finds work for idle hands.

Top 40 Dumbo means top 40.
31  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: We are an average sized club on: October 07, 2019, 04:07:14 PM
Describing something as average sized is meaningless. You will never see an average size anything. It's just a mathematical term in statistical analysis. If you take all the 92 clubs in English league football, Boro would be classed as one of the bigger clubs. Probably in the top twenty for stadium size.Probably in the top 30 for attendances ,and in the top 40 for catchment area. However it suits certain people's arguments to describe Boro as either a "shitty little" club or an averaged sized one when the club is failing. You need to abandon this reasoning, and analyse why the club is failing.Actually you know but can't admit it.Its a failure of overall management and ethos that is to blame.
32  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Not one iota of faith in Gibbo now on: October 07, 2019, 01:41:46 PM
Even on Boreme the criticism of Gibson is growing. One or two bad defeats at home, and I think we will start to see the crowd letting him have it.

34  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Defeat at home to WBA surely means... on: October 06, 2019, 04:51:03 PM
A defeat by WBA will result in an even greater silence,if that is possible ,from the Great Leader. I suspect he is now in some state of funk, and will simply hide behind his sofa.He has created his own trap and is firmly wedged in it.This is not going to end well for Boro or the Great One.

36  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Do You Think Woodgate Will Ever Be A Successful Manager At This Level? on: October 05, 2019, 05:31:53 PM
I think Woodgate was Gibson's only choice. He gave the fans all the guff about looking around and the PR machine fed the press.I have a little sympathy for Woodgate because the squad is not good enough to really compete in this league. However Woodgate is vastly inexperienced and not equipped mentally to take on this job.He should have turned it down and looked for something at the lower levels,if he fancied a stab at management. Why couldn't Gibson see that? I'm not sure Gibson has much idea about football.

Yes I was a regular attended when a season ticket holder from 1993 to 2007.Driving a 300 mile round trip even for night matches.Getting home at half past midnight, and then work in the morning. How far do you travel? I never liked the Riverside. Its a cheap Lego type stadium. Some of the newer ones are much better.
