Clayton will be on the bench. Talking to a dirty Leeds fan at work and he was saying that the Clayton got sent off at Elland Road last season as he lost his head when the Leeds fans were goading him ?

3  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Boro fans getting carried away again on: August 14, 2014, 08:32:34 AM
I think 'getting carried away' is a bit much.

Unless you're a supporter of one of the very top teams, your expectation is invariably that your team will fuck the job up in the next match, we call it the 'typical Boro' effect.

If we don't get a result on Saturday, the reaction to this defeat will be symmetrical in it's negativity to the general positivity at present.

Still think we'll go up though.

I watched the last 10 mins and the power of this messageboard is such that when Sow scored the winner I firstly laughed, but my next thought was of Liddle somewhere in a Sea Prison going fucking mental

5  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Actually Enjoyed a Boro Home Match on: August 11, 2014, 09:00:58 AM
Wonders will never cease.

Played really well, especially the 2ndhalf, thought Kike & Tomlin were the stand out players.

Only slight negative was Adomah, his attitude didn't look right and Leadbitter tore into him verbally in the 2nd half when he didn't get back into position.

I won't get too excited though as Brum were fucking abysmal and we missed a few chances which would cost us against better opposition.

All in all it made the  go down better after the match.
6  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Hemlington on: August 08, 2014, 07:47:11 AM
At least we didn't have the Asian lads taking all our birds like you did at Hustler.

And I remember Hustler coming to the fence at Davids one dinnertime looking for bother and there were some lads who'd left 2-3 years previously  :wanker:

8  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Hemlington on: August 07, 2014, 09:56:06 AM
When I was 16/17 I always hung out drinking down Acklam but I used to get grief of a bunch of lads most nights coming back home, all how you described them capio, thick scruffy cunts.

Then one Saturday afternoon me and a mate had had one of our first ever afternoondrinking sessions and we walked back to mine, came around the corner and they were all sat around, generally being feckless cunts, the drink had obviously given me some Dutch courage as me and my mate went over and one by one asked the if they wanted any bother....not one did even though we were outnumbered.

Never got bother again off them  :wanker:

9  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Hemlington on: August 07, 2014, 08:33:43 AM
I lived there from being 2years old until I was 20. We moved into a brand new house in the D's (in fact my Mam is still there 40 years later).

From being a toddler until early teens it was a great place to grow up, building sites over the road, a lake, park, loads of green areas to play football, cricket and a beck with some legendary jumps and tarzees.

Then in the mid to late 80's the council started moving the problem families from the 'inner city' shitholes like Pally Park, Park End etc and along with them came the scum. Place went down hill rapidly, especially where I lived. Packs of young lads terrorising the pensioners and generally making the place scruffy because they were, Bill knows who I mean.

Over the years it has improved slightly again and I drove from My Mam's to Brambles Farm the other day and I think that part of town is far worse than Hemo.

On the Catholic thing, there can't have been that many as their was probably only about a dozen of us in our year who had to get past all the Proddy fuckers from Hustler & Boynton and then on quite a few occasions when we got through the subway in Brookfield have a welcoming committee from Coulby School. That's why we stuck together.

Its one of those cities where you shouldn't take any public transport or guided bus tours etc.

We went for 4 days, set off on foot each day just after breakfast and didn't arrive back at the hotel until late evening. So much to see and some of the little restaurants, especially on the other side of the river to the main attractions, are fantastic.

Mind its fucking expensive  rava

I was the same, missus pestered me for years and I refused due to the way the cunts treated us when Boro played there.

Finally relented and went this April, loved it, great city biut what Capio said.

The Romans are twats.

Games out of reach for India now and if we can't bowl them out in 4 sessions we don't deserve to win anyway.

Agree with Capio, Cook has just about played it right imo.

I was going to say that looks more like a mountain bike but I'mm no expert.

Mine has much thinner tyres and has the lugs for the guards if required.
23  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Any cyclists on here? on: July 30, 2014, 03:18:11 PM
I bought a Carrera Crossfire Hybrid from Halfords for 250 about a year ago as I wanted to see if I would get into it and I have. Easy way to get fit and really enjoying it, apart from the taxi drivers and white van man driving like utter twats.

I tend to do the cycle paths and some road cycling in 10-20 mile runs so a Hybrid is ideal.

However thinking of spending quite a bit more on a racing bike next year as I fancy getting out a bit further afield.

Went last season and ended up having a night out in Seaham  jc

And gatecrashing a wedding do up there

4 of us got a taxi back after we started waiting in a rank and some bloke heard our accents, shook our hands and thanked us for coming to Seaham, walked us to the front of the taxi rank told the driver to look after us, not a murmur from anyone in the queue, so he must have been the Mackem Lids  charles

I'd rather we'd made them follow on but now we're batting we need to stop fucking about at 2-3 runs per over and have a swish until mid afternoon. Promote Butler to no4 or even next in if necessary.

The locals reckon the two meets in July are mainly Teessiders.

Either way, a good day out isn't quite what it used to be nowadays.
29  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Good Day Out At York Yesterday - Very Busy on: July 28, 2014, 12:52:28 PM
I vowed to never go to York races via the train a couple of years ago as it was so busy and full of knobheads on the way back.

However me anf the wife went to York for the day a couple of weeks ago and Boro train station was so busy I thought the races must have been on (they weren't btw). Transport police were out in force and handing out flyers from York City Council that in laymens terms were basically saying 'stop getting pissed in our city and causing mayhem'

I also work in York now & then and the locals stay away from the city centre when the races are on due to the amount of pissed up Teessiders.

Sad really, as its a great city and racecourse.
30  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Sounds like Julie has been banned from boro for life on: July 24, 2014, 01:39:54 PM
I was at that game and didn't see or hear anything and there was only a medium sized following that day.

Don't agree with what they have done by any means but the witch hunt that started over on fmttm by people who didn't even witness the event was akin to a mob lynching.

Add to this we can probably expect a warm welcome at Brum away this season.

Everyone has done something stupid under the influence of drink, some more accountable than others, but a lifetime ban ??

Nope, they'll be the same as they are every season, full of cheating diving twats and tippy tappy shite football.

I'd rather watch the Mackems play the Geordies.

34  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: KP in Cook out on: July 21, 2014, 03:28:22 PM
Could you imagine Kp telling Cook he can't play because he can't handle him? Leaders need to be brave.

I actually agree, either him or Morgan.

They reckon Morgan is a right little hard faced get.

Cook is to formulaic and nicey-nice for this role. And his batting technique has deserted him.
35  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Is the season already over before it starts? on: July 21, 2014, 01:37:47 PM
With only one up front, we need two midfielders to chip in around 30 goals between them

We aint got them.

Its easier to get a couple of forwards to score the quantity of goals required.

Lee Tomlin will score a few as will Adomah.
36  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Is the season already over before it starts? on: July 21, 2014, 01:20:09 PM

Not at all Bill, this league is up for grabs and there is always one surprise team fighting it out.

Last year there were two in Burnley & Derby.

I still think we need a proper midfielder. A throwback to the olden days when midfielders did everything, when there was none of this 'defensive midfielder' shit.

Yep. But do they exist anymore and the way teams are set up these days, is there any need ?

I think Golf coverage has the best commentators of any sport, both on BBC and sky all very good. Looking forward to the Ryder Cup

Not in my opinion, TMS on BBC radio and the Sky cricket team are way out in front of any other.

I tweeted about 3 weeks ago that if we can get a 15-25 goal striker, Omerou back, a right back and maybe another forward I actually fancy us to go up automatically.

Karanka had us very solid towards the back end of last season and one player I think will star for us this season is Lee Tomlin.

Last one I went to was against Gloucestershire, when Michael Bevan put them to the sword.

Used to be funny when the coppers piled into the crowd towards the end and the drunks would resist arrest.

I'm sure I was at that one. Jack Russell would have been keeper for them ?

Remember the police coming into the crowd.

for a night out, but I was out with the missus on Saturday night and the place is showing signs of life.

2 decent little pubs on Baker Street (the Cornish Lager in Sherlocks ), then we ended up in Sticky Fingers which I didn't even know was there.

Decent turn on, young lad playing acoustic guitar, decent pint, had a very cityish feel to it.

As long as the carpet carriers keep out of these places there is the making of a decent little area of pubs, bars & restaurants.
