At our place it's when we stop the plant running to open the equipment for statutory inspections and re-setting of the pressure safety relief valves. We also take the opportunity to do modfications and maintenance of stuff we can't normally do

Aaaaah I see - I wasn't sure if it meant a final shut down before closure.

Or it could have been what plants do when Harvey Weinstein jizzes on them.  They shut down emotionally and go their happy place.

 klins

No. We have regular partial shutdown and shutdown the whole plant once every 3 years. Keeps me busy

The stream i watched was shite but the bits where It wasn't laggy as fuck it seemed like an open end to end game. My big frustrations was when we got the ball and started a counter attack, there were often acres of fucking space in the middle for Brathwaite or someone to drop into to open some space up and pull defenders around but we never seemed to do it. Every attack we go wide, run out of ideas, play it slowly sideways across the middle then just end up going backwards and repeat

Bamford should have been brought on much earlier for that fucking spud Fletcher. The lad is a good footballer and needs to be playing consistently

Yes. i was born in the Boro and my dad and grandad were Boro fans so I have an emotional connection with the team and the town  and I lived there for the first 20 odd years of my life. I don't feel that way about Britain or England. Sorry

Or

Yes. i was born in the England and my dad and grandad were England fans so I have an emotional connection with the team and the city  and I lived there for the first 20 odd years of my life.

Whats the difference?

The fact that your English/British gave you more advantages and a better start than being from Teesside

As I said, I don't get it. It's a left wing thing. I would put money on you wanted Scotland to gain independence yet wanted GB to stay in the EU.

I just don't get it. I'm proud to from Boro, proud to be English and proud to be British. They come as one for me. I dont understand where the line comes when it's ok to be tribal about from Boro but ashamed to be English/British. Is it Exelby service? To take pride in being from Boro and support the team it's far more jingoistic, little englander than anything.

Bizarre

I had no strong opinion either way with regards to Scottish independence, though as I feel more affinity to your average Scotsman than your average Englishman I was glad they voted to stay within the Union. I'm not ashamed to be English/ British, just ambivalent about it. It doesn't really mean anything to me. Taking pride in being from one of the biggest shitholes in the UK (as we are constantly told) is irrational and jingoistic and small minded, I agree. However, it might be a shithole, but it's our shithole, and if anyone from outside Teesside has the temerity to call it as such they get told to get to fuck

Almost every country in the world likes to spin it's own myth about what a fantastic place it is, what a unique culture it has and how it's people are somehow special and unique.. The truth is everywhere you go, people are more or less the same. We speak different languages, have different religions, eat different foods but we're all more or less the same. That's my objection to patriotism, it creates artificial concepts of separation like "race" and nationhood, which ultimaltely end in war and suffering. The sooner we realise we're all the same and get on with trying to sort the planet out before we completely fuck it up, rather than striving for the "National Interest" the better
22  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: What makes you proud to be British? on: October 14, 2017, 10:54:07 PM
I'm not bothered if anyone else feel "proud" of Britain or proud of being British. Good for them. I just don't get it

because the history of Britain and more importantly the British people, has shaped your ability to have a decent life, upbringing, education. The history of GB now allows you to work and earn money to support yourself.

Your ancestors forged a bit of land that has brought more to the world than nigh on any other nation. British history is full of fantastic achievements from fighting facism in the second world war to engineers like Brunel, the wright brothers, to the NHs, to the arts of Shakespeare and the music of the bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

The british mentality has taken the country, and us, to civility from being stone age neanderthals. Many other countries are still there and people around the world take more pride in things like religion. Thats what I wouldnt be proud of

Cool
23  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: What makes you proud to be British? on: October 14, 2017, 10:50:37 PM
I just think it makes more sense to be proud of something you have done or achieved in life, rather than the lump of land you happen to have been born on

And if you only focus on negatives, whether it be the way you do, or Mick1986 then I have nothing but pity really.

Thanks bro, #prayfortowz

I can't really get on board with patriotism, i just happen to have been born in a hospital on a particular piece of ground, to parents born on more or less the same piece of ground, that is under the jurisdiction of a manufactured entity known as the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

What's to be proud of?

I know we've got a few collectors on here so was looking for recommendations. I need a "daily driver" a watch I don't mind taking a battering at work so don't want to pay big money for it.

Can anyone recommend a decent mechanical watch for under £600? Or would I be stuck with quartz for that?

Why would anyone want to spend 600 quid on a watch?

Casio keep good time, what else do you need like

Something that looks good. Has a well designed and built face and a decent mechanism.

Clayts is a good footballer, he does the donkey work then gives the ball for the more talented like Kante does. every team needs a player like him & he loves the Boro, Leadboots is a natural leader reminds us of Southgate egging everyone on
