There's an Uncle Harry post regarding Rodney Bewes that's a fantastic read, as most of UH's posts are.

Tell us one of your amusing stories about boys being bummed  in the theatre again swb.  klins

Why? Does it turn you on? You're probably better asking Priests, Scout Masters or politicians if you want to hear about that sort of thing.

Still hope truth will out during my lifetime, but not too optimistic. Think the grassy knoll thing is pretty much nailed on, just a question of who and why.

Likely lads - class despite em being geordies

70s was a golden era for sitcoms

They didnt have to be politically correct ie tedious, in those days.  :like:
Have you got the box set of love thy neighbour. monkey

Sorry, it was funny.  charles

What the left choose to ignore is that the black bloke dished out as much as he got and always came out on top.

It was a victory against racisim.  :like:

Was it bollocks, it was as funny as a bout of gout, and it taught people a whole load of racist insults that racist morons felt validated to use. I still cringe at the memory of Mark Burke being called "Sooty"!

Someone paid $450,000,000 for a fucking painting the other day.

Ironically a painting of a man who allegedly said it was easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle, than a rich man into the kingdom of heaven!

It's in reference to a gateway in Jerusalem.

I think we all know what the phrase is understood to have meant. Very poor.

I also suspect Saving Private Ryan might not have been set in December!

Next year I imagine that we'll see one of the major advertisers having their "holiday" advert showing a homosexual Muslim Somalian farmer in a loving relationship with a Rastafarian priest living in a leafy Oxford suburb with their two adopted gender fluid children, Rainbow and Storm,  who catch sight of a transgender Santa delivering organic non-genderstereotypical gifts.

Plenty of people knew it didn't make sense. Including lots of financial experts that Michael Gove was tired of listening to!

Not that they burned him mind. Burning was favoured by the Catholics for heretics. Proddy dogs preferred good old hang, draw and quarter, with a side dish of chopping of your meat and two veg and burning them in front of you. Fawlkes dodged the latter by jumping off the scaffold with the noose round his neck.

33  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Why no supersonic flights on: November 03, 2017, 12:33:51 AM
Concorde was hit by the double whammy of the development of the 747, and the oil crises in the early 70's. Suddenly everyone wanted bigger more fuel efficient planes.

I read the yanks wouldn't let them go supersonic over the states either. They said environment  issues but more likely didn't want Europe show casing their tech over the states.

I think most countries ban supersonic overflights, (we do), but there was also air/noise pollution issues. Basically by the time it started commercial flights it was already fecked.

Thinking on, there was a very good documentary on BBC4 recently about the whole history of it. Might still bee on iplayer.

Steel works closed. Government  couldn't help because the European law makers said so.

Steel works closed because they were a shit business. And a lack of investment from within and no subsidies from successive Tory governments fucked the steel works up progressively.

German and Italian plants modernised heavily using subsidies and money from their own governments. Fk all to do with EU law.

China flooded the market with cheap steel, made at a loss. These were the factors that finally put the nail in the coffin.

Next.

Indeed Jim, most EU countries which significant steel production stepped in to help their own.

I haven't got a fucking clue about the complexities of international  economics. What I'll  confess to, is voting to leave because it's bad enough having to put up with the rules, regulations and laws imposed on us by idiots we as a country have elected  without having to suffer the ridiculous regulations unelected foreigners are imposing.

Which ridiculous regulations are those then?

Not expecting an answer to that are you Jim?

100% on being relegated

42  ComeOnBoro.com / ComeOnBoro.com Message Board / Re: Kevin spacey.. on: October 31, 2017, 02:41:22 PM
to be fair strictly speaking, nothing actually took place (on that occasion)

Not that much happened with Adam Johnson and he got 6 years.

A theatre manager I knew got two years for relations with a 14 year old lad, point was he admitted it straight away and fully cooperated with Police. Johnson however went into full denial mode till the last possible moment, cynically protecting his wages. Hence the long sentence.
